About The Position

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer II-III based at our manufacturing facility located in Berea, Kentucky. What you will do: Lead and identify continuous improvement activities in manufacturing processes, including automation, robotics, and error-proofing (poka-yoke). Provide day-to-day support to resolve manufacturing issues and drive improvements across multiple value streams. Evaluate and optimize new and existing manufacturing processes to ensure they meet production, safety, and cost standards. Lead teams in continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and 6σ methodologies. Develop specifications for equipment, tooling, materials, and processes to ensure safe and efficient production, integrating automation and mistake-proofing features into designs. Support the introduction of new products and innovative manufacturing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Maintain accurate process documentation, engineering change notices, and quality records to ensure compliance with industry standards. Drive projects focused on capital improvements, automation, and process optimization to enhance operational performance.

Requirements

  • Level II: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5-7 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Level III: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 7-10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience in leading CI projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in key manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly techniques, automation, PLC/robotics integration, and error-proofing (poka-yoke).
  • Project Management: Experience in managing multiple projects and ensuring timely execution of process improvements.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
