About The Position

Arcosa Wind Towers is looking for motivated, results-driven, and people-oriented Continuous Improvement Engineers to lead positive change through project management, continuous improvement,t and Lean methodologies. In this role you will work within elements of the sciences of manufacturing and industrial engineering while keeping continuous improvement fundamentals at the forefront. The right candidate will use effective project management practices and be focused on identifying and implementing solutions to improve employee morale, product quality, efficiency, productivity, and safety performance throughout the plant. Generally, this position’s coverage occurs during 1st shift, but flexibility to provide coverage for occasional projects and tasks occurring off-shift is essential. The right candidate will have a positive attitude and possess the aptitude and drive to take initiative to make things happen independently. This position reports to the Plant CI Manager. Location: Newton, IA

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing
  • 1+ years of experience with continuous improvement preferred
  • Application knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and related CI tools preferred.
  • Experience and moderate proficiency in MS Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Projects, and Vizio) required.
  • Experience in providing training/coaching across multiple levels within an organization preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize projects and tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team.
  • Excellent communication skills across multiple mediums (verbal, written, electronic).
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and levels of cleanliness.

Nice To Haves

  • Application knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and related CI tools preferred.
  • Experience in providing training/coaching across multiple levels within an organization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events to drive sustainable improvements and works closely with plant personnel
  • Develop and execute improvement action plans
  • Facilitate continuous improvement practices that enhance employee engagement
  • Develop and maintain tracking tools and measures to ensure project transparency
  • Assist in business case justification for projects and initiatives
  • Facilitate training and coaching on CI tools and disciplines
  • Work cross-functionally with plant departments utilizing effective communication skills
  • Apply project management methodologies to optimize resource utilization, enhance operational efficiency, and drive productivity improvements
  • Develop peer relationships with shop floor employees to gain understanding of production processes
