About The Position

The purpose of the Continuous Impovement Engineer role within the organization is to support and drive Business Unit performance improvements using CI tools and encourage the Continuous Improvement culture. Your key focus will be to support and ultimately lead Level 3 Rapid Improvement Events as well as enabling the sustainment and implementation of future state improvements coming out of these events. CI site focus will be on the development, expansion and sustainment of Lean Tool Leaders and Experts across 5S+ and Value Stream Mapping as well as Problem Solving Kaizen. In this role you will: Coordinate site capital projects and lead continuous improvement (ELSS/CI) initiatives. Train and mentor teams in problem-solving, Six Sigma, and ELSS tools. Implement best practices and support BPI, IDB, and RIE events. Lead root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and production problem resolution. Support annual ELSS/OpA assessments and drive action plans. Manage cost‑out pipeline and provide operational and customer service reporting. Support employee engagement strategies and ISO certification activities. Manage assigned special projects and apply change‑management methods to sustain improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing and/or operations environment.

  • Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Nacogdoches, TX.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques – i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and planning skills with proven ability to lead change through both direct and indirect (influencing) abilities
  • Can effectively and comfortably speak to different levels of the organization; senior leaders to the factory floor
  • Understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R & R, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
  • Proficiency in Office 365
  • Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001 etc).
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Working knowledge of the use of problem-solving tools
  • Production data analyst experience
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, charts, and graphs
  • Experience utilizing SAP
  • Proficiency in MiniTab; knowledge of Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability – i.e. regression analysis, hypothesis testing, etc.
  • Knowledge of ELSS and CIF
  • Coaching, mentor, learner, teacher
