About The Position

This position is responsible for leading continuous improvement projects, and the training, coaching and mentoring of continuous improvement resources for Plant WD in Dalton, GA. It is also responsible for deploying corporate continuous improvement initiatives within Plant WD. The role assists in planning activities to assure project deliverables and other work are produced timely and outcomes are achieved in accordance with established protocols and procedures, including planning and facilitation of annual strategic planning. The CI Engineer will facilitate assigned team activities such as team meetings, kaizen events, and project deliverables, and act as an expert consultant to project teams and plant management on program decisions, strategy, design, and analysis methods. If needed, the position leads investigations (with collaboration from internal and/or external experts) to support process improvement efforts. It involves investigating and innovating with new technologies that promote Continuous Improvement behaviors, eliminate waste, and improve efficiency, working closely and collaboratively with teams. The role provides thought leadership and participates in division process improvement programs, and leads objective annual assessments on the health of Continuous Improvement, LSW, and Tier systems across the plant. This position will help grow revenue and profitability by improving quality and lead times that will add value for customers, and is accountable for improvements in associate engagement, safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. Furthermore, the role is responsible for attracting, retaining, and growing manufacturing-level process improvement resources, overseeing the growth and development of continuous improvement trainees at all levels across the facility, and is highly involved in increasing associate engagement. The individual must possess superior leadership abilities, be able to develop and establish long-term relationships, and demonstrate clear, effective written and verbal communications at individual and divisional levels, maintaining transparency and clarity of the business plan, short-term initiatives, and how individual employees support each. The role also involves documenting activities and developing feedback reports to communicate project outcomes and/or findings and activities to collaborators and others involved, including calculation and reporting of savings related to activities.
