As the Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. This position reports to the Sr Manager, Ops Support & Special Projects and is based out of our Anoka, MN office.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • Basic understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab) is a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or projects involving Lean/Six Sigma
  • Experience with CAD or 3D printing
  • Familiarity with root cause problem-solving techniques

Responsibilities

  • Assist with time studies, data collection, and statistical analysis to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Support Kaizen events, 5S activities, and other Lean initiatives
  • Participate in value stream mapping and process documentation
  • Help prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with CI engineers and specialists on improvement projects
  • Observe and learn Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC) and Lean tools in practice
  • Hands-on experience with process improvement projects in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Other duties as assigned
