About The Position

The Continuous Improvement Engineer II is focused on business processes, new product development projects, supplier improvement efforts, &/or customer/product issues and reports to the OpEx Manager. This role is perfect for an individual who wants to develop professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. A vital member of the Continuous Improvement Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader. Job responsibilities include: Value Stream Mapping processes, time studies, leading Kaizen events, creating Standard Work, audits/Gemba Walks, develop: PFD, FMEA, Control Plan, and Job Element Sheets, conducting root cause analysis using 5-Why, Cause & Effect Diagram, A3 tools, New Product Introduction (NPI) validation, creating test validation plans, Gauge Studies, and perform statistical analysis. Can use voice of the customer information to derive decision making. Has training and good understanding on the use of problem-solving tools (5-Why, Logic Tree, Cause & Effect diagram, A3, etc.) to determine root cause analysis and derive countermeasures. An experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Ability to solve straightforward problems and has a rudimentary understanding of lean principles, quality systems, statistical tools and procedures. Leading the implementation of lean manufacturing principles to continually improve processes; understands key business drivers, uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Conduct audits, write audit reports, distribute reports, follow up on non-conformances; Create, manage, and distribute Quality Alerts Function as the Quality Assurance representative for the review and approval of CAPAs, Deviations, MDRs, Validations, and QWC; Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the Quality System. Support the creation of quality documents for new product launches; Conduct inspections, testing, and analysis to ensure product quality and compliance with OBE and industry standards. Respond to and follow up on customers complaints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, mechanical, manufacturing, chemical engineering, industrial engineering)
  • 3+ years’ experience and knowledge in Toyota Production Systems, mechanical &/or manufacturing processes, an understanding of drawings, specifications and standards, familiarity with machined parts and their manufacturing processes, and a background of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates a limited understanding of general business principles.

Nice To Haves

  • ISO-9000 &/or TS-16949 Quality System experience beneficial.
  • CQE, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Quality Engineer certification through ASQ preferred
