About The Position

The Continuing Education Instructor for Alternative Teacher Certification at Lone Star College is responsible for facilitating learning activities that help students achieve course objectives. Requirements

• Master's degree in education or related field.
• At least 3 years of recent, documented experience in K-12 classroom teaching.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certification.

Nice To Haves

• Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Appraiser Certification.
• Doctoral Degree in related field.
• PK-12 administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Teaches courses in the Alternative Teacher Certification program at various times and locations.
• Utilizes a course syllabus for each course or laboratory, adhering to institutional guidelines.
• Provides timely access to students through appointments and electronic communication.
• Continuously improves instructional quality using innovative methodologies and techniques.
• Evaluates students' progress and informs them of their achievements in a timely manner.
• Plans and develops diverse teaching methods and materials to meet course objectives.
• Attends in-service meetings and trainings with students and ISD partners.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners.
• Provides access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
• Responsible for professional development and institutional service as determined with the Dean.
• Reviews and recommends student learning materials.
• Submits required college reports and forms.
• Performs other reasonable, related duties as assigned.
