About The Position

The College of DuPage is seeking adjunct faculty members for the Homeland Security Training Institute (HSTI) to teach a variety of courses related to homeland security. The ideal candidates will be committed to facilitating and supporting student success in a multicultural learning environment. The HSTI focuses on providing education for law enforcement, fire science, first responders, and corporate security personnel, addressing the evolving threats in today's society through a comprehensive curriculum. The successful adjunct faculty will have the opportunity to teach in various formats, including face-to-face, online, hybrid, and blended courses, accommodating a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for course planning and instruction, student evaluation, and the timely submission of required paperwork. They will engage with students from diverse backgrounds and learning abilities, reflecting the increasing diversity of the College's student body. The HSTI is dedicated to developing programs that meet the needs of working professionals in the field of homeland security, including areas such as disaster preparedness, counterterrorism, intelligence, emergency response, and private sector security.
