About The Position

Firstbase is looking for a leader to establish and execute a comprehensive content strategy for a newly formed team. The role involves creating captivating, high-quality content that inspires and resonates with audiences, moving beyond traditional content marketing. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and external talent to build a world-class content team and develop innovative content formats, including long-form video and written storytelling.

Requirements

  • Based in New York City, or willing to relocate.
  • 3+ years of experience leading creative teams at a product company or creative agency.
  • A proven track record of identifying, recruiting, and working with exceptional creative talent.
  • Strong project management skills, keeping plans clear, timelines on track, and everyone aligned.
  • Hands-on experience producing or contributing to high-quality video content, with examples to show.
  • A rare blend of creative instinct and analytical thinking.
  • Strong understanding of the startup landscape and how modern companies are structured, operate, and scale.
  • High level of energy.
  • Relentless pursuit of excellence, with a strong aversion to mediocrity.
  • Ability to speak your mind, challenge assumptions, and present ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of innovative content formats with a focus on long-form video and written storytelling.
  • Build and manage a content calendar, aligning production and release cadences with product launches, business goals, and market trends.
  • Recruit, manage, and collaborate with world-class creative talent, both in-house and external.
  • Define and track clear performance metrics to measure the reach, quality, and impact of content across channels and audiences.
  • Operate with creative rigor and startup scrappiness, producing polished, cinematic work and fixing small-but-critical details.
  • Work within flexible timelines and budgets, always optimizing for excellence.
