About The Position

We are looking to hire a Content Strategist to join our Sports & Outdoor team based in New York. This role is not a marketing role; we are looking for a Content Trend Forecaster who has the ability to demonstrate world-class written, video, and visual reports/content. The Strategist will research new ideas and create solution-driven forecasts that clearly understand client needs across multiple Sports and Outdoor categories. You will deliver this content in written, image, video, or audio formats.

Requirements

  • Proven knowledge working in the Sports & Outdoor Industry in sports equipment, hard-goods, and outdoor gear.
  • Good understanding of macro to micro trends across consumer and adjacent industries such as fashion, interiors, consumer electronics, and lifestyle product areas.
  • Proven experience of research, analysis, writing, and editing content.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the role data and analytics plays in commercial success.
  • Ability to analyze data and pinpoint trends that will impact the market.
  • Good written English.
  • Ability to take ownership of personal assignments, prioritize workload, and informally support other members of the team.
  • Good organization, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with content team and work with Sales, Client Services, and Marketing where appropriate.
  • Technical skills: Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Suite, Slack, Social Media platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Research new trends and innovation and create solution-driven forecasts showing a clear understanding of client needs across multiple Sports & Outdoor categories.
  • Forecast and track the Sports & Outdoor Industry with quantitative and qualitative data within all markets and demographics.
  • Deliver traffic growth by consistently evaluating internal data and client feedback to improve content standards and relevance.
  • Participate in the content for WGSN trend days and WGSN's Strategic Forecasting.
  • Work with international freelancers to commission and edit content.
  • Edit team's content, ensuring content standards are met and ready for sign-off as directed.
  • Collaborate with Sports & Outdoor team and wider content teams across multiple industries.
  • Travel nationally and internationally to cover industry trade shows, conferences, and other events as required.
  • Work with the Sales teams to support client relationships as directed.
  • Speak with clients to understand their needs.
  • Work with the consultancy arm, Mindset on research when required.
  • Provide quotes for press and broadcast media as required.
