About The Position

The Senior Content Specialist at Carnegie Learning is a pivotal role that combines superior communication skills, deep content knowledge, and a passion for teaching. This position is designed to support sales executives in connecting with customers, understanding market issues, and effectively messaging company solutions to maximize revenue. The Content Specialist will work closely with account executives and account managers, providing them with the necessary knowledge and tools to succeed. Responsibilities include creating messaging, training sales staff, delivering presentations, and providing follow-up service to customers, with a significant travel requirement of over 75%. This full-time position reports to the Vice President of Content Specialty.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education content area; Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience teaching middle or high school in the content area.
  • Administrative experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Proximity to a major airport is preferred.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or managing teachers is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of school and district infrastructure and technology management systems.
  • Ability to adapt to varying customer needs and manage transitions effectively.
  • Previous sales experience is desirable.
  • Expertise with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Adobe, Google Classroom, and other design software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate classroom experience and best pedagogical practices into daily activities for content area instruction.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of Carnegie Learning products and solutions, and their market placement.
  • Stay informed of current industry trends and actively identify learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate as a strategic partner with local sales teams to increase math sales.
  • Present focused presentations of Carnegie Learning math products to state and local review committees.
  • Travel to adoption presentations to assist in closing business.
  • Utilize consultative selling and active listening skills to align product offerings with customer needs.
  • Provide coaching and content support to sales teams in various sales environments.
  • Prepare and deliver formal coaching activities related to product, content, and pedagogy.
  • Monitor progress of sales campaigns and evaluate specific strategies and tools.
  • Present content workshops at conferences.
  • Provide exemplary customer service by building relationships and developing solutions.
  • Collaborate with the math product team on special projects and market studies.
  • Remain knowledgeable of competition and adjust messaging accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and participate in national sales meetings.
