About The Position

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by millions of people globally, is seeking an experienced people and project manager to assist in managing our growing Content Production team. The Content Production team is responsible for a wide range of tasks within our production process, including: converting content written by Curriculum Designers into an interactive online format used in IXL skills across five subjects; sourcing and editing images; uploading PDFs and other resources; and using spreadsheets and internal tools to format and enter accurate metadata for our content. As a manager on this team, you will work closely with the Senior Content Production Manager and with our Curriculum Designers to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet our content development goals. This role has some technical aspects, so it's important that you are comfortable working with spreadsheets and markup languages such as HTML or XML (although coding experience is not required). This is a full-time position in our Raleigh, NC office. The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday in the office with the option to work from home one day per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ year of people management experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Proven success leading multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Can-do attitude with a growth mindset and openness to others' ideas
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new guidelines, software, and code
  • Advanced knowledge of excel or Google Sheets (e.g. vlookup, concatenate, left/right/mid) required
  • Familiarity with XML, HTML, and/or CSS is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior Content Production Manager to hire, train, and manage a growing team of Content Production Specialists
  • Work closely with curriculum team leads to define project scopes, assign resources, and create and manage project schedules
  • Constantly monitor progress and communicate project status to all stakeholders
  • Design workflows and implement process improvements to ensure projects are completed efficiently and in accordance with our quality standards
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in our production workflow and work with engineers to evaluate and improve our in-house tools
  • Act as the final quality gatekeeper for all work completed by your team
