About The Position

In Place Impact www.inplaceimpact.com is the majority owner of Impact Life More than 43,000,000 children, spouses, parents, and or siblings rely on a family member to provide them with the constant care they need for their chronic condition. The passion, selflessness and dedication shown by full-time family caregivers is often unmatched, and although the majority of us are not medical professionals, we are often the world’s most experienced in our fields of care. For many of us our lives are so full of unhealthy levels of financial, emotional, educational and communal stress that a substantial body of research categorizes over 60% of us as “at risk”. In many instances, the harder we fight and try, the more at risk we become. These global statistics fly in the face of other globally accepted research that shows that the healthier we are, the better the outcomes for the loved one/s we care for. Therefore, as there are currently no cures in sight for many of the 6,000 chronic condition and rare diseases found in the NORD database, better outcomes are the best results we can hope for. To put this in perspective for America, 6 out of 10 adults have at least one chronic condition, and 4 out of 10 have 2. That means over 150,000,000 people require specialized help, products, treatments, and services that are generally very expensive and sometimes hard to access. Impact Life wishes to contract with (up to 20 hours per week) an individual that has provided at least 5-years unpaid caregiving experience to a family member with Autism. At least 4 years of experience in research and curating content in Autism is required. The position affords the ability to work remotely with 2-3 in person team meetings each week, however, all applicants must reside in the Charleston SC Metro region. Impact Life is based in Charleston and is launching its pilot in South Carolina. Once the pilot is complete, Impact Life believes it will be able to scale its innovation across the nation. If so, the position has the potential to migrate to full-time, or remain as is depending upon the successful applicants caregiving requirements.
