About The Position

Sigma’s vision is to create an insight-driven world where people and organizations are transformed for the better by access to data and the insights it contains. At Sigma, we are building a cloud-native business intelligence platform that allows our customers to tap into their biggest databases and easily build powerful data-driven apps, conduct analysis, and deliver new insights–all without any programming. We are looking for Graduate students who are passionate about making the content in our product interfaces easy to understand and use. You will be part of a talented team of designers on a shared mission to make data analytics and AI-powered apps easily accessible to non-technical customers.This internship will directly be with our product design team and will impact the way users interact with our core product. As an Intern at Sigma, you’ll work on various production features and learn efficient design for large scalable systems. Our interns work directly with our engineers, product leaders, and designers across the organization everyday. Requirements

  • Current student : Applicants for this internship must be currently enrolled in a university graduate degree program in the U.S with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Able to intern from June 2026 through August / early September 2026
  • Authorization : You must be legally authorized to work in the US during the Summer 2026 program Visa sponsorship is not available for our internship positions
  • This internship is in-person and located within San Francisco, CA. Relocation assistance will be provided for students who will need to relocate for the summer in the form of a relocation bonus. Applicants must be able to work in-person in our SF office
  • Actively pursuing a Graduate level degree in Design, UX/Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media/Communications, or similar field graduating in December 2026 or June 2027
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in US English
  • Demonstrable rational design thinking and understanding of research methodologies
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills; demonstrating the ability to clearly explain content decisions to anyone in the company
  • Located within the U.S. and able to work full-time in our San Francisco HQ (40 hours per week) between June 2026 - August / September 2026
  • Authorization: You must be legally authorized to work in the US during the Summer 2026 program Visa sponsorship is not available for our internship positions
  • Your portfolio must include examples of UX content you’ve written while demonstrating breadth and depth in UX/interaction design, information architecture, and research methodologies
  • Your portfolio must describe your design process and show examples of the progressive evolution of your content and designs. We’re interested in use cases that inform us of the business problem you were trying to solve, the constraints and assumptions you needed to work within, where you started, and the significant iterations leading to the final design and content
  • Your portfolio should inform us of how your content decisions furthered business objectives while at the same time meeting customer needs

Responsibilities

  • You’ll work on user interface (UX) content to help Sigma increase consistency and give customers an excellent experience across product surfaces.
  • You’ll audit, write, and refine UX content and related guidelines for our product’s navigation, buttons, links, tooltips, and error messages to ensure we’re consistently “on voice” and helpful.
  • You'll own a project from concept to delivery during your internship in collaboration with our product designers and engineers.
  • You’ll delight customers with simple, straightforward, and friendly content as they explore data and generate insights with Sigma.
  • You’ll collaborate with product management, user research, customer success, and support team members to actively seek customer feedback that advances our solutions and increases product adoption and retention.
  • You’ll be mentored by an experienced content designer and product design team members, gaining hands-on experience of working with enterprise application design and development teams.
