About The Position

Brass Monkey, part of the Galison/Mudpuppy family, is looking for a Content Creator/Producer to join our team—specifically, a funny one. Not because we need a court jester, but because everything we make is grounded in a dry, clever sense of humor, and our marketing and social content needs to sound like it actually came from us. We make a wide range of stuff—anything from low-stakes party games about murder to sticker books full of judgy fish. Your job will be to help us promote those products (and the brand behind them) through clever, authentic content that builds on our established voice. All Brass Monkey products are concepted, designed, and written by a tight-knit in-house creative group. We’re looking for someone to join that circle and translate what’s happening inside the brand into daily social and marketing content: images, videos, captions, and ideas that feel immediate, original, and unmistakably Brass Monkey. This role reports to the Galison/Mudpuppy/Brass Monkey Marketing Director in NYC and requires close, in-person collaboration with the Brass Monkey creative team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or something else that accidentally made you funny, or relevant and equivalent work experience
  • 1–3 years of experience creating content for an organization
  • Proficiency with design, photography, and video editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite or similar)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines without turning into a stress meme
  • Willingness to work closely with internal creative teams and be highly present during product-development cycles
  • Portfolio or examples that demonstrate your voice and skills

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in humorous content creation or social media management
  • Deep knowledge of pop-culture references and an instinct for what makes people laugh
  • Experience with animation (nice to have, not required)
  • Strong ideation skills—and the ability to not fall in love with your first idea
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with feedback
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, occasionally chaotic environment

Responsibilities

  • Create and post quick, engaging, and on-brand humorous content daily to support product launches and drive traffic across social, Amazon, web, email, and other channels
  • Develop and manage marketing assets across the full Brass Monkey calendar, including social, web, Amazon pages, email campaigns, and tradeshows
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual style across all platforms
  • Stay embedded in the product development process to capture real-time moments worth turning into content
  • Research and adapt competitor strategies and platform trends to grow audience engagement
  • Conceptualize and storyboard larger promotional and how-to videos, working with freelance photographers/videographers as needed
  • Translate in-house jokes, half-baked ideas, and “wait, that’s actually funny” moments into polished marketing
