Khan Academy is seeking an experienced Math educator to serve as a grades 3-8 Math Content Creator for a fixed-term position of 24 months. The role involves creating high-quality, standards-aligned Math lessons to empower students and improve their learning outcomes. The Content Creator will collaborate with the content team and external contributors to develop and curate engaging educational materials, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse learners.

  • Work with the content team to expand Math courses by leveraging market research and subject matter expertise.
  • Develop course scopes and sequences, including units, lessons, and content assets.
  • Create and curate high-quality content on schedule, designing new standards-aligned exercises and articles.
  • Be accountable for content from contractors and third parties used in course development.
  • Track the performance and usage of content in the courses.
  • Leverage analytics and community features to attract and retain learners.
  • Learn and use the content management system to improve and build courses.
  • Act as an editorial expert by reviewing new content and maintaining existing content.
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic direction of Khan Academy's content efforts.
  • Minimum of 2 years of content development experience in grades 3-8 Math subjects including Algebra I.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching/tutoring experience.
  • Experience with multiple standards sets (e.g., CCSS, State Standards) for course development.
  • Strong analytical skills for prioritizing critical metrics.
  • Project management skills and proficiency with Google Docs and spreadsheets.
  • Previous edtech experience developing math content is a plus.
  • Desire to teach at scale and engage with a broad array of learners.
  • Experience leading collaborative work on time-sensitive projects.
