About The Position

The Containerboard Safety Data Analyst position at International Paper is focused on supporting the company's Health & Safety goals within the Containerboard Mill operations. The role involves analyzing safety data to identify trends, developing processes for tracking incidents, and collaborating with various teams to enhance safety performance. The analyst will also automate reporting systems and manage small projects related to safety improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of data analysis experience.
• Degree in a related field.
• Working understanding of databases and reporting tools configuration.
• Proficiency or capability to learn Power BI, MS Forms, and other business productivity applications.
• Commitment to safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Strong customer focus and action-oriented mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop or modify processes for identifying, tracking, and reporting Serious Injuries & Fatalities (SIF) and SIF potential incidents.
• Analyze SIF and SIF potential for trends and themes to improve safety performance.
• Partner with HSE Data Analysts and IT organization to accomplish objectives.
• Build relationships with Mill H&S teams, HSE COE, and Technology.
• Automate and maintain weekly reporting systems, generating data analysis and reports as needed.
• Learn and become proficient in safety data analysis for improving safety performance.
• Deploy solutions/tools to mills that improve data collection or execution of safety objectives.
• Manage small projects and support project teams related to safety.
