About The Position
As a Container Repair Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and safety of waste containers used in garbage collection services. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of garbage containers to extend their lifespan and maintain operational efficiency. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in welding or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in garbage container repair or a similar field.
- Proficient in welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems associated with waste containers.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in waste management.
- 2+ years' experience as a Container Repair Technician
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Excellent reading and writing skills
- Must be able to multi-task and have an attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Container Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of garbage containers to identify structural, mechanical, and corrosion-related issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to assess the overall condition of waste containers.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks to address structural damage, cracks, or holes in garbage containers.
- Repair or replace mechanical components such as hinges, lids, wheels, and locking mechanisms.
- Apply corrosion-resistant coatings and treatments to prevent rust and corrosion.
- Hydraulic System Maintenance: Inspect and repair hydraulic systems associated with certain types of waste containers, ensuring proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and address issues related to hydraulic cylinders, valves, and pumps.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that repaired garbage containers meet quality standards, safety regulations, and municipal requirements.
- Conduct quality control checks to verify the effectiveness of repairs.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for each garbage container.
- Generate reports detailing the condition of containers and the actions taken for repair.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other technicians and team members to efficiently manage workload and meet repair deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coordinators, and other relevant personnel.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards in the work environment.
- Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Maintain and organize tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any malfunctioning tools or equipment to the supervisor.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry developments and best practices for garbage container repair.
- Provide input on process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
