About The Position

This position is a federal role located in Poplar, MT, with an open application period from July 26, 2024, to January 31, 2025. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. This includes both paid and unpaid experience, such as volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations. All qualifying experience must be clearly identified in the resume, including duties, responsibilities, and total hours worked per week. The position requires a graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. Additionally, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted nursing license from a recognized authority.

Requirements

  • Graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) must be obtained within 180 days of hire if not already held.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in professional nursing for GS-9 level.
  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program for GS-11 level.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate processes and activities involving infection control and employee health and safety programs.
  • Construct, implement, and facilitate clinical education needs of staff adhering to nursing principles, practices, and processes.
  • Develop policies and procedures for infection control, employee health, and patient safety.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Manage employee health records, collect data, and prepare reports for Quality Improvement and Clinical Committees.
