About The Position

The Financial Product Specialist at Mission Federal Credit Union is responsible for assisting members over the phone with lending products and new accounts. This role emphasizes customer service, relationship-building, and sales, ensuring that members receive timely and accurate support for their financial needs. The specialist will handle loan applications, inquiries, and servicing while maintaining compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of financial institution experience, including 2 years of consumer loan processing and 1 year of customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal communication, organizational, member service, and sales skills are required.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work in a high-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with MeridianLink and Symitar for Windows is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Call center experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Mission Fed telephone service and relationship-building standards.
• Assist members in the loan application, inquiry, servicing, and new accounts queues using professional phone etiquette.
• Utilize account retention techniques to maintain member relationships.
• Interview members, review credit reports, and process loan applications in a timely manner.
• Provide loan decisions along with terms and conditions, offering financial counsel or alternatives to members.
• Follow up on loan approvals and ensure proper documentation for funding.
• Respond to member and branch inquiries regarding loan decisions and procedures.
• Review monthly reports to ensure applications are completed timely and meet compliance regulations.
• Meet and exceed monthly sales goals and service excellence standards.
• Act as a training ambassador for new hires and assist with resolving member issues.
