Scope: The Continuous Improvement Team Lead reports to the OpEx Mgr. to identify and eliminate waste in all its forms, including defects, overproduction, delays, non-utilized talent, transportation, inventory, motion, and excess processing times. Participates in continuous improvement and/or efficiency projects within a Company focusing on products, systems, operations and processes. Contributes to lean improvement activities, looking at safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost and efficiency, while delivering benefits to support customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or High school diploma/GED or equivalent knowledge with at least 4 years of proven work experience
  • Lean deployment experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience facilitating Continuous Improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Passion for implementing improvements using lean methodology and tools including Problem Solving and PDCA methods
  • Customer Focus - Ensuring that the customer perspective is a driving force behind business decisions and activities; crafting and implementing service practices that meet customers' and own organization's needs. (e.g., entrepreneurial, VoC (voice of the customer), drives innovation & growth)

Responsibilities

  • Is familiar with lean methodologies and tools used in manufacturing environments
  • Serves as technical content Lean Expert, provides coaching/advice to peers, encourages teams to achieve continuous improvement goals, trains others in use of quality and continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Initiates and leads kaizen events
  • Acts as a change agent to ensure lean processes are deployed throughout the facility and becomes ingrained throughout the organization
  • Identifies, establishes, and delivers measurable processes for continuous improvement and regularly evaluates success and monitors sustainment
  • Leads and/or directly influences cross-business strategic initiatives, growth projects, improvement initiatives, and similar high impact projects
  • Is responsible and accountable for project executions from inception to completion, including communication of results and verification
  • Trains facility workforce in required lean initiatives
  • Deploys 6S and visual management across all value streams
  • Collects and reports metrics / progress on action plans
  • Communicates Best Practices throughout organization
  • Works with production to develop ongoing production metrics
  • Supports, enforces, and complies with all company rules and policies
