About The Position
The position is for a Consumer Safety Inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service. The role involves ensuring that regulated establishments produce safe products by executing appropriate inspection methods, determining non-compliance with regulatory requirements, and documenting non-compliance. The inspector will verify that meat and poultry slaughter and processing establishments' Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plans meet regulatory requirements. The job requires occasional travel, up to 76% or more, and the employee will primarily work in one plant but may be detailed to any shift at any plant in the Denver District. The position is permanent and full-time, with a salary range of $40,332 to $79,443 per year, depending on the grade level (GS 5 - 9).
