About The Position
The position is for a Consumer Safety Inspector with the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The role involves ensuring that regulated establishments produce safe products by executing appropriate inspection methods, determining non-compliance with regulatory requirements, and documenting non-compliance. Inspectors will verify that meat and poultry slaughter and processing establishments' Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plans meet regulatory requirements. The job requires travel up to 76% or more, and employees may be detailed to any shift at any plant in the Philadelphia District. The position is permanent and full-time, with a salary range of $40,332 to $79,443 per year, depending on the duty location of the selectee.
