About The Position
The position is for a Consumer Safety Inspector within the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the USDA. The role involves ensuring that regulated establishments produce safe products by executing appropriate inspection methods, determining non-compliance with regulatory requirements, and initiating enforcement actions when necessary. The inspector will verify that meat and poultry slaughter and processing establishments' Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plans meet regulatory requirements. The position requires occasional travel, potentially up to 76%, and may involve working at various duty stations within the Denver District. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $40,332 to $79,443 per year, depending on the grade level (GS 5 - 9).
