About The Position

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Manager - Quality Assurance Program is responsible for the coordination of activities designed to identify, develop and fully utilize community residential and day program resources on behalf of the agency's consumers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as a consultant to residential and day program vendors regarding basic services, programming, and nursing issues as able. Review consumer records maintained by service providers, as necessary. Conduct regular monitoring visits, review records and investigate complaints. Assist in the investigation of complaints involving vendored services as assigned and prepare plans of correction as necessary. Do any required follow-up in a timely manner. Visit every facility in caseload twice a year completing required paperwork. Act as liaison to community agencies, residential, day program facilities, as well as case management programs. Represent the regional center at a variety of case conferences and interagency meetings. Lead Quality Assurance visits annually, involve a community member on the team, or document the failed attempt to involve them. Prepare reports of findings and write plans of correction, as necessary in a timely manner. Complete unannounced visits and appropriate documentation as assigned. Work with vendors to improve the quality of existing resources. Maintain a current knowledge of available residential and other resources; share this information with staff and others at Placement Assistance meetings and as appropriate. Act as a resource person to staff, community agencies and other regional centers in identifying residential and day program resources to meet consumer needs. Provide trainings as needed. Ensure that an accurate program summary of residential services is available. Organize travel efficiently and effectively. Maintain a safe driving record. Perform different or additional work as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or related field from an accredited school.
  • One year of experience in developmental disabilities or related field.
  • Full use of an automobile, possession of a valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance in the minimum amount prescribed by law, or ability to provide for independent transportation.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
