About The Position

The Consumer Loan Post Closing Specialist is responsible for the post-closing and HMDA review of all consumer loan files (originated and non-originated) to ensure that proper policy, procedural and compliance requirements have been adhered to and that the loan files are documented in accordance with the approved terms. Additionally, the position will be responsible for creating and/or clearing documentation exceptions, review of other tracking items and monthly validation of the HMDA LAR. Additionally, will work with the Consumer Lending Team Leader to execute consumer loan package and compliance reviews along with providing both administrative support and backup processing as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year Consumer lending experience and knowledge of HMDA preferred.
  • Excellent time management, critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
  • Visual and auditory skills; moderate interpersonal relations and communication skills.
  • An understanding of consumer lending documents and process.
  • Previous experience with consumer loan documentation systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Review all originated and non-originated consumer loan files for completeness.
  • Support the Consumer Lending department in conducting HMDA compliance reviews for each transaction.
  • Work with the Branches and Underwriters to maintain compliance with regulations especially HMDA.
  • Identify any incomplete, deficient or missing documents as exceptions and record and clear those exception items during the review on the tracking/tickler log.
  • Review weekly Decisioned loan report to verify all decisioned loan transactions are accounted for and have been or will be reviewed for post-closing and HMDA reporting purposes.
  • Review weekly Denied loan report to verify all adverse action loan transactions have been reviewed for proper disclosures and HMDA reporting purposes.
  • Implement current and new regulatory rules and guidelines, including a thorough working knowledge of HMDA requirements.
  • Understand the Bank's BSA/AML Policy and apply this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, reporting any suspicious activity to the BSA Officer immediately.
  • Recommend changes to management for process improvements based on the file review findings and trends.
  • Assist with the development of department procedures to achieve efficiency.
