About The Position

The Consumer Lending Intern performs a variety of functions and activities with varying degrees of complexity within the Consumer Lending division. The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience while learning to organize and prioritize competing demands in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. This role provides exposure to key areas including indirect lending, centralized lending, loan processing, underwriting, and funding. The position requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn as business needs evolve in a high-volume setting.

Requirements

Candidates must be 18 years of age.
Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale (must provide transcripts).
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors working toward a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
Ability to work part-time or full-time hours for the summer (25-40 hours/week, generally 8am-5pm Monday-Friday).
Able to commit to the full internship of 10 weeks (weekends may be required).

Responsibilities

Listen to recorded calls between loan originators and members for research and validation
Assist with loan origination commission calculations
Assist with reports
Assist with scheduling
Assist in preparing funding packages for indirect loans by verifying information on loan documents
Record funded contracts
Follow-up with members to ensure needs were met through the lending process
Assist on general lending functions with exposure to all areas of consumer lending
Maintain knowledge of branch operations by completing Deposit Regulation and Product and Service Certification courses.
Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability and strong relationships in every interaction with members and co-workers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
