About The Position

At Central Bank, we are hiring a Consumer Lending Collections Specialist. This role involves assisting customers with their loan status and creating workable plans to help them bring their loan accounts current. The position is ideal for a high-energy individual who enjoys communicating with loan customers through various channels including phone, email, text, and written correspondence.

Requirements

  • Possess knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school and some college courses which include specific courses in business and math.
  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills as evidenced by the ability to interact both face-to-face and over the telephone with customers and co-workers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use tact, diplomacy and a professional personal appearance when dealing with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to initiate work activities with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment when accepting repayment arrangements or taking further collection action.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong math and statistical aptitude.
  • Possess working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good typing, word processing and written communication skills.
  • Strong proof reading and editing skills.
  • Ability to learn and understand computer systems utilized to evaluate/process transactions.
  • Ability to learn and understand regulatory and compliance issues as it applies to their area of responsibility.
  • Possess a creative mind used to locate borrowers who have ceased making loan payments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior collections experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Learning and maintaining knowledge of collection policies included in the Consumer Lending Collection Guide.
  • Creating a working knowledge of Collection/Repossession laws as they pertain to Consumer Lending, which will be used in your daily interaction with loan customers.
  • Becoming familiar with a working knowledge of Bankruptcy laws.
  • Possessing the ability to express yourself in a clear and concise manner in both verbal and written communications with loan customers.
  • Working with loan officers and operations staff for collection purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
