About The Position

First Community Credit Union (FCCU) is offering a nine-week week, full-time (40 hr/week) paid internship opportunity based in Houston, TX for an individual looking to pursue a in consumer lending. This internship will be starting 6/08/2026 and ends 8/07/2026. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a wide range of lending duties and functions while working to advance our organization's practices. This will be done through knowledge and understanding of various loan review processes and determining the creditworthiness of applicants. They will learn the process for approving or denying loans as authorized in lending guidelines as well as the process for submitting potentially approvable loans that are outside of normal guidelines to designated higher level lending authority. Our interns will also assist the various lending personnel to understand the risk of fraud and learn how to detect and report potential fraud. They will gain an understanding of acceptable levels of risk, methods of risk mitigation, and applying these principles in the decision-making process.
