About The Position

The Consumer Access Specialist at AdventHealth is responsible for ensuring that patients are properly registered for all service lines. This role involves performing eligibility verification, obtaining pre-certifications and authorizations, making financial arrangements, and managing payments for services. The specialist will maintain close communication with clinical partners and actively participate in providing exemplary service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare registration or a related field preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients are appropriately registered for all service lines.
• Perform eligibility verification and obtain pre-certifications and authorizations.
• Make financial arrangements and request payments for services.
• Perform cashiering functions and clear registration errors.
• Maintain a close working relationship with clinical partners.
• Actively participate in extending exemplary service to customers.
• Provide PBX (switchboard) coverage and support as needed.
