About The Position

AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is seeking a Consumer Access Specialist for overnight shifts. This role involves ensuring patients are appropriately registered for all service lines, performing eligibility verification, obtaining pre-certifications and authorizations, making financial arrangements, and handling payments for services. The position requires maintaining a close working relationship with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical, ancillary, and patient access departments. The Consumer Access Specialist will also provide PBX (switchboard) coverage and support as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures patients are appropriately registered for all service lines.
• Performs eligibility verification and obtains pre-certifications and authorizations.
• Makes financial arrangements and requests payments for services.
• Performs cashiering functions and clears registration errors.
• Maintains a close working relationship with clinical partners.
• Actively participates in extending exemplary service to both internal and external customers.
• Provides PBX (switchboard) coverage and support as needed.
