About The Position

The Consulting Utility Forester position at ACRT, Inc. is designed for both entry-level and experienced professionals who are passionate about working outdoors. This role involves the identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, as well as planning and coordinating tree clearance activities. The forester will serve as a liaison between clients and tree crews, ensuring effective communication and management of vegetation-related activities.

Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Horticulture or closely related field, or 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field in lieu of a degree.
  • Vegetation management experience preferred.
  • ISA Arborist, ISA Utility Specialist and/or Pesticide license preferred.
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and production-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a geographical area for vegetation-related activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required.
  • Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware.
  • ISA Arborist or ISA Utility Specialist certification.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines.
  • Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews.
  • Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers.
