About The Position

The position involves leading the design, deployment, and management of secure cloud architectures specifically tailored for Department of Defense (DoD) mission requirements. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with DoD security policies, including the DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements (CC SRG) and NIST 800-53 Rev5. Familiarity with operational security elements such as Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)s, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS), and Security Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) requirements is essential. The role also requires designing and implementing cloud networking solutions while integrating security best practices.

Requirements

• Experience in designing and managing secure cloud architectures for DoD.
• Strong knowledge of DoD security policies and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with STIGs, ACAS, ESS, and SCCA requirements.
• Proven experience in cloud networking solutions and security best practices.
• Understanding of DoD Enterprise services and ICAM.
• Knowledge of DISA BCAP integration processes.
• Experience with Cloud Guardrails and their application.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible.
• Strong DevSecOps practices and experience with GitLAB or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with third-party security tools such as F5 load balancers and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Previous mentoring or leadership experience in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of secure cloud architectures for DoD mission requirements.
• Ensure compliance with DoD security policies, including DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements (CC SRG) and NIST 800-53 Rev5.
• Familiarize with operational security elements including STIGs, ACAS, ESS, and SCCA requirements.
• Design and implement cloud networking solutions with a focus on security best practices.
• Understand DoD Enterprise services, ICAM, and CSSP integration.
• Familiarize with DISA BCAP integration processes.
• Understand Cloud Guardrails and their application to Mission Owners.
• Guide the development of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible for scalable deployments.
• Implement strong DevSecOps practices and experience with GitLAB or equivalent.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and security teams to ensure compliant landing zones.
• Guide networking and security integration with third-party tools such as load balancers and firewalls.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert and mentor for the team.
