As a Consulting Senior Associate, Wildlife Biologist in Elko, NV , you’ll play a critical role in assessing and protecting natural resources across sectors like renewable energy, mining, and infrastructure. Your work ensures that development and conservation go hand in hand. What Your Impact Is Conduct biological surveys and impact assessments that influence major projects. Collect and analyze field data to guide environmental decisions. Collaborate with experts across disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions. Support permitting processes that balance ecological integrity with business needs.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in biology, natural resource science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70%) and work in remote, challenging environments.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS, Garmin and/or Trimble GPS , and digital data collection platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility and initiative.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in biology or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in biological surveys, permitting, or impact assessment.
  • Knowledge of Nevada Conservation Credit System, sage-grouse monitoring, and avian surveys.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fieldwork and desk-based analyses for baseline studies and impact assessments.
  • Collect, organize, and interpret ecological data using digital tools.
  • Prepare technical reports and contribute to permitting documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and regulators to ensure project success.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
