About The Position

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is a key partner in risk assessment, with its Government vertical providing solutions to government agencies and law enforcement. These solutions help drive insights from complex data, improve operational efficiency, increase program integrity, discover and recover revenue, and facilitate timely, informed decisions for investigations. As a Lead Support Engineer, this role involves providing direct, daily onsite support to a government customer's HPCC system, which is critical for national security. The position operates within a challenging and dynamic team environment, requiring strong problem-solving and technical skills to troubleshoot issues primarily in a Linux-based setting. LNSSI (LexisNexis Special Services) is committed to innovation, assisting government agencies with homeland security, national defense, and intelligence missions by creating actionable intelligence and data-driven decisions. Technical training on additional systems like HPCC and ECL programming will be provided if necessary to ensure proficiency in critical technologies.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/ full-scope lifestyle polygraph (FSP)
  • B.S. Degree (M.S. preferred) in Computer Science/MIS, or related discipline
  • 2-3 years of Linux Systems Administration experience
  • Proficiency in leveraging scripting language(s) e.g.,: SQL, BASH, PYTHON, PHP, PERL, etc.
  • Experience conducting data analysis and scripting for development on big data systems

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency and experience in programming with Enterprise Control Language (ECL) in a High-Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC) system platform for big data processing. Candidates must be willing to learn HPCC/ECL.
  • Experience supporting the Intelligence Community
  • Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration system
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud technology

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and solve problems using scripts, maintenance tools, and technical skills
  • Maintain required service level response and resolution times for supported systems
  • Diagnose performance problems using available performance tools and system indicators
  • Develop onsite modifications that ensure continuous improvement of tools and resources
  • Take ownership of critical technical issues and develop processes or applications to enhance the team’s ability to achieve its goals
  • Testing of software and providing technical feedback to customers, 3rd party vendors, and development teams
  • Work with team members to identify training opportunities and develop training programs or plans based on team objectives
  • Display initiative and versatility in identifying, learning and developing technical skills
  • Supports technical engagement with customers in the absence of Lead Engineer
