About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is undertaking a greenfield initiative to design and build foundational infrastructure and platform solutions. We are seeking a Consulting Member of Technical Staff to contribute to the architecture, design, and development of this next-generation system. This is a rare opportunity to work on a zero-to-one project and help shape the foundations of OCI’s future infrastructure. As a Senior Leader and individual contributor, you will drive innovation in major technical components within the platform, translating high-level goals into scalable designs and delivering reliable, cloud-native solutions. You will collaborate with Architects and senior engineers to define system architecture, make thoughtful trade-offs, and contribute to a shared technical vision. In this role, you will take ownership of complex technical areas, lead design reviews, and be a hands-on contributor throughout the software development lifecycle. You’ll also help elevate engineering quality across the team by mentoring peers, advocating for best practices, and contributing to process and tooling improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in software engineering, including experience in greenfield or large-scale systems design.
  • Strong background in distributed systems, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing high-scale, reliable systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C;.
  • Experience with cloud-native design patterns, CI/CD, service observability, and API development.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, and an understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
