About The Position
The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist at the rank of Assistant Professor. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for patients, assisting primary medical teams in formulating effective treatment plans, and delivering ongoing psychiatric care as necessary. The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist will play a crucial role in fostering communication and collaboration with both medical and surgical colleagues to enhance patient care outcomes. This position also entails providing clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that all members work cohesively to deliver high-quality care. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the appointee will have opportunities to supervise a medical-psychiatric clinic, engage in teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and participate in scholarly activities. The Department is committed to expanding its clinical services, teaching, research programs, and innovative population health initiatives in Consult-Liaison Psychiatry. The successful candidate will join a team of specialty-trained psychiatrists dedicated to providing evidence-based consultation to hospitalized patients, building on a strong foundation of clinical excellence. Candidates must meet specific qualifications prior to employment, including holding a medical doctorate or equivalent, being eligible for medical licensure in Illinois, being Board certified or eligible in General Psychiatry, and having completed residency training in Adult Psychiatry.
