About The Position

The position is located in the heart of Dallas at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC). BUMC is consistently ranked one of the best hospitals in the US by US News and World Report. BUMC is a 1,000 bed Level 1 trauma facility with cutting edge cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, transplant surgery (including bone marrow, kidney, liver, heart, lung, and more), and excellent medical subspecialty support. BUMC also is affiliated with Texas A&M's School of Medicine and as such teaching opportunities are readily available. BUMC is also home to the T. Boone Pickens Cancer Center, the #1 inpatient cancer center in North Texas. The Physician HTPN examines and treats patients with a wide range of conditions, take patient histories, request diagnostic tests, make diagnoses, prescribe treatment, administer vaccinations, perform follow-up examinations, as well as educate patients in disease prevention and health maintenance. The Physician HTPN will supervise the clinical activities of allied health professionals and advanced practice professionals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE- Examine, collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results. - Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury. - Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients condition. - Work as part of a clinical team of technicians, advanced practice professionals, and other physicians in decision making around tests, diagnoses and treatment options for patients with illnesses or diseases. - Monitor patient conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary. Requirements

  • Seeking a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist in Downtown Dallas at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC)
  • Workload consists mainly of inpatient consultations with supervision of experienced psychiatry NPs and a flexible call rotation
  • Must be BC/BE in Psychiatry with interest in psychosomatic medicine
  • Employed, full-time, position with Health Texas Provider Network (HTPN) - the employment arm of Baylor Scott & White
  • Faculty Appointment with Texas A&M School of Medicine is available to interested candidates plus teaching opportunities with our 300+ residents and fellows in various specialties
