Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Electrical Power/Energy Systems and 3 years of experience in power system studies, or Master’s degree and 1 year of experience, or PhD.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools like PSS/E, PSCAD, MATLAB, DSATools, ETAP, CYME, SKM, or ASPEN.
  • Experience or coursework in programming, AI/ML, and power system analysis.
  • Familiarity with transmission planning, stability studies, and electromagnetic transients.
  • Exposure to renewables, energy storage, EV charging, or AI/ML applications in power systems.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior consultants to deliver high-value energy studies.
  • Build and refine simulation models for transmission and distribution systems.
  • Analyze system performance under various operational and contingency scenarios.
  • Present technical findings to clients and stakeholders in clear, compelling formats.
  • Support integration of renewables, storage, and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and regulatory filings.
  • Apply AI/ML tools to enhance grid analytics and forecasting.
  • Engage in continuous learning and innovation within the power sector.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
