About The Position

The Marketing Consultant will be a key member of WSP's Strategic Growth Team, responsible for leading and supporting the pursuit life-cycle from lead generation to proposal development and presentation coaching. This role requires collaboration with the marketing manager, technical staff, and external vendors to create compelling proposals and marketing materials that align with the company's strategic vision. The ideal candidate will have experience in a large, multidisciplinary engineering environment and will demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the AEC environment preferred, with a background in journalism, publishing, or communications ideal.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams towards a positive outcome.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in completing tasks.
  • Proficient in common grammar, punctuation, proofing, and business writing.
  • Knowledge of AEC industry terms and definitions highly desired.
  • Ability to produce high-quality materials under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to train others on company policy and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in marketing for engineering or construction firms.
  • Familiarity with proposal management software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead proposals with general guidance, including scheduling and conducting project kick-off meetings and strategy sessions.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to write original content and review/edit content for clarity and compliance.
  • Organize and coach technical staff during the presentation phase of a pursuit.
  • Research, gather, and edit proposal materials, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with graphic design staff to produce effective marketing materials.
  • Develop pursuit strategies and provide business intelligence on clients and competitors.
  • Prepare materials for internal and external meetings and participate in client engagement team meetings.
  • Support annual strategic planning initiatives and coordinate district communications activities.
