About The Position

Consultant, Investor Relations MiniMed, a scaled, global, and newly public Diabetes management medical technology company, is seeking a Consultant of Investor Relations, to be an integral supporting member of its IR team, working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment under the general supervision of the Vice President, Head of Investor Relations. This position will support the development of investor and analyst communication materials used in quarterly earnings calls, investor conferences, medical congresses, and analyst and investor meetings. The position will also be responsible for planning and executing analyst and investor events. The IR Consultant will monitor and communicate to executive leadership on analyst notes, competitor earnings, and other events. The position will coordinate closely with other teams across MiniMed to develop and deliver investor communications and competitive intelligence, and support the IR team as needed on analyst and investor inquiries. The ideal candidate will bring experience in IR, capital markets, and financial communications. The position requires an articulate and analytical professional who can make significant individual contributions, and strategically leverage the broader organization to obtain relevant information and insight into key issues. The ideal candidate should either already possess, or have the capacity to quickly develop, an in-depth understanding of the company’s activities and strategies, competitive landscape, financial reporting, and financial disclosure regulations. The ideal candidate builds cross-functional relationships, works effectively with others, and thinks strategically, globally, and creatively. In addition, the ideal candidate will need to think and execute quickly under a variety of high pressure, time sensitive situations, and needs to be able to make clear, rational decisions, compliant with all applicable rules and regulations, in a very dynamic environment. This position interacts regularly with all levels of management and must be able to earn the respect and trust of executive leadership based on demonstrated performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years+ of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 8+ years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in equity research, investment management, investor relations, product marketing, strategy, or finance
  • Experience with the medical device sub-sector or healthcare sector
  • Understanding of public company financial statements, with ability to perform financial and investment analyses
  • Experience working with investors, senior executives, or other high-touch client groups; strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels; poised and persuasive with a high degree of confidence, diplomacy, judgement, and discretion
  • Quick study, flexible, adapts easily to change, thrives in uncertain environments, excellent stamina, and ability to execute even with limited direction
  • Ability to collaborate with others to get work done
  • Accountable to high standards; executes and delivers results at a high-performance level
  • Proven experience with process innovation and continuous improvement
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)

Responsibilities

  • Manage investor/analyst and internal IR communication projects (e.g., presentations, Q&A documents), including incorporating input from numerous stakeholders and ensuring on-time delivery
  • Manage periodic and ad-hoc financial projects, such as performing financial analyses, preparing guidance recommendations, analyzing shareholder targets, and providing updates on valuation, stock performance, and shareholder movements
  • Manage the planning and execution of investor events, including investor conferences, medical congresses, analyst and investor meetings, and non-deal roadshows, through collaborative interaction with executives and IR leadership
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the MiniMed business, including the ability to effectively understand and communicate key dynamics of the businesses’ financials, strategies, product pipeline, and competitive and regulatory environments
  • Provide timely and comprehensive insights to IR leadership and executives on analyst reports and news written on the company, competitors, and industry, including competitors’ earnings
  • Represent the company by responding to equity analyst and shareholder inquiries as needed
