As a mid-Level GIS Specialist in Portland, OR, you'll play a critical role in transforming complex environmental data into actionable solutions that drive smarter decisions for global organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Programming, Natural Sciences, or related field. Or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional GIS experience, ideally in an environmental context.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and Web App Builder.
  • Experience designing and deploying ArcGIS Online web maps and custom web apps.
  • Strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics in deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and resourceful with a problem-solving mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or GIS/database certifications.
  • Familiarity with environmental databases (e.g., EarthSoft's EQuIS).
  • Advanced data management skills, including SQL enterprise geodatabases.
  • Experience creating Python geoprocessing tools for ArcGIS Pro.
  • Expertise with Esri mobile apps (Collector, Survey123, Field Maps, Dashboard).
  • Knowledge of soil/groundwater data interpretation and remediation design concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain geospatial data, maps, and web-based applications.
  • Publish and manage ArcGIS web services integrated with environmental databases.
  • Organize and manage project data following industry best practices.
  • Automate GIS workflows to improve efficiency and maintain data quality.
  • Explore and implement new technologies to enhance digital capabilities.
  • Collaborate with scientists and GIS specialists on diverse projects, adapting to evolving client needs.
