About The Position

ERM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Consultant, Field Technician to join our team in Colorado. This role primarily focuses on remediation projects in northeast Colorado, with opportunities to work on a variety of environmental projects over time. The position offers a chance to collaborate with an expert consulting team on challenging projects for large industrial and global clients, while gaining access to national experts and ongoing learning opportunities to build the required experience for professional registration.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of directly related experience (five to ten years preferred)
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office skills
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record

Nice To Haves

  • BS in civil, environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering or related degree
  • Willingness/interest in field assignments
  • Environmental fieldwork experience
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance on site investigation and remediation projects
  • Conduct field work, including subcontractor oversight, utility clearance, soil and bedrock drilling, characterization, and sampling
  • Install monitoring wells and conduct test pit excavation
  • Perform soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water sampling
  • Utilize surface and borehole geophysical techniques
  • Conduct aquifer testing, including slug tests, packer testing, step-drawdown, and tracer tests
  • Implement remedial actions, including excavation, in-situ treatment, capping, and other methods
  • Monitor remedial systems performance
  • Assist in project activity planning and health and safety oversight
  • Prepare plans, permits, and reports for site characterization and monitoring
  • Record data and assist in technical presentation of results; prepare reports, tables, graphs, charts, and hydrogeologic-related maps
  • Provide general environmental compliance support to clients
  • Perform topical research and environmental compliance assessments
  • Support multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables
  • Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities
  • Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to effectively manage projects.
