About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Consultant, Environmental Engineer, for our Charlotte, North Carolina office. This position is part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges by providing technical assistance and guidance for multi-phase environmental work processes. These processes include site investigation, remediation, brownfields redevelopment assessment and planning, vapor intrusion mitigation systems, impact assessment, and environmental permitting. As a Consultant, you will have the opportunity to lead and support environmental site investigations and remediation design, determine overall risks to ecological and human health, develop corrective action strategies, classify contaminated materials, and assist with recommendations to avert degradation of air, water, and land resources. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards. In this role, you will assist in the development and implementation of environmental site investigation and remediation strategies for a diverse client base, including federal, municipal, commercial, and industrial projects from various regulatory programs such as Superfund, Brownfields, and Voluntary Cleanup. You will develop technical scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates for site investigation and remediation activities based on applicable regulations and client objectives. Your responsibilities will also include managing multi-media investigations, conducting analysis and evaluation of geologic, hydrogeologic, and analytical data obtained during field investigations, and preparing a variety of technical reports. You will interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner, maintain quality control standards, and prepare site-specific Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) and Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). It is essential to remain current in the latest environmental engineering techniques and emerging contaminants of concern while exercising responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources.
