About The Position

The Consultant, Electrical Engineer position at WSP USA Inc. involves providing expert electrical engineering and design services for a variety of energy and power-related projects. The role requires reviewing third-party design documents and project plans, as well as offering high, medium, and low voltage electrical engineering expertise across multiple sectors, including renewables, electrification, and power generation. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations while developing innovative design solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience in high, medium, and low voltage electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of IEEE/NESC Standards and NERC regulations.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with renewable energy projects such as solar and wind.
• Familiarity with microgrids and power generation systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and advise on third-party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans.
• Provide electrical engineering and design expertise on energy and power-related projects.
• Determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data related to substation components and equipment specifications.
• Perform complex electrical engineering work related to the design of wiring diagrams, substation layouts, and grounding grid designs.
• Incorporate future-ready techniques and design requirements with equipment sizing and cabling.
