About The Position

This is a Principal Infrastructure Production Management & Reliability Engineering position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations. This position is part of a team that supports the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms of Morgan Stanley affiliates, including, but not limited to, Eaton Vance, and ETRADE. This includes both high level infrastructure maintenance, operational activities, and assisting in the transformation of affiliate VDI platforms and processes to Morgan Stanley standards. This role is responsible for maintaining desktop and application delivery via VDI and assists with Morgan Stanley affiliate integration program(s).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5 – 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Extremely proficient with virtualization technologies such as Omnissa Horizon, Dynamic Environment Manager, Unified Access Gateways, Horizon RDSH App technologies, Ivanti AppSense, and vSphere environments.
  • Strong experience with application packaging and delivery via Horizon RDSH.
  • Proficient with Windows Server 2016/2019 Server Administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, LAN/WAN platforms, DHCP, DNS.
  • Working knowledge of financial services software including three years’ related experience.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of Windows, SCCM, network layers, hardware and protocols, Citrix, Microsoft Office, Software Packaging, client applications.
  • Document processes and provide dashboard queries to management as needed.
  • Participate in rotational schedule working off hours when required, and aid other EPP technology areas during vacations, time off as needed, including on-call rotation.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to balance workload of team members.
  • Project management skills with minimal supervision, providing briefings and reporting to management as required.
  • Must be a highly motivated individual who displays strong initiative by going “above and beyond” to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains multi-site Horizon VDI environment(s) to a high standard.
  • Maintains VDI gold images and pools for Persistent, Non-Persistent, and RDSH environments.
  • Maintains VDI supporting tools and systems such as Dynamic Environment Manager, Group Policies, etc.
  • Assists in vulnerability patching and remediation for all systems and software under the team’s purview.
  • Execution of complex tasks requiring the application of advanced IT infrastructure knowledge, skills, practices, and procedures, along with creative insights in order to complete assignments successfully.
  • Develops and maintains credible and effective working relationships with both client management and IT personnel in a way that demonstrates an understanding of business problems, IT strategies, issues and priorities.
  • Participates in development and implementation of strategies to meet organizational goals, ensuring that client and IT priorities are aligned and accomplished.
  • Communicates, documents, and maintains solutions and procedures for technology offering pre and post production.
  • Maintains and communicates procedures and policies to more junior members of the group.
  • Acts as a technical resource to junior technical consultants, as well as other teams/squads as necessary.
  • Implement self-managed projects as required.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
