About The Position

The Catalight Care Services (CCS) BCBA Consultant provides expert clinical support and advisement for the CCS Clinical Case Management program as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, promoting quality service delivery through alignment with the most current evidence-based practices for the treatment of individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities. The BCBA Consultant partners with Clinical Case Managers, Assessors, Quality, Clinical Services, CCS leadership, providers, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure clinical supervision programs meet BACB standards and industry best practices. Additionally, the BCBA Consultant may provide direct care to clients and caregivers as needed for assessments and escalations.

Requirements

  • BCBA with 2+ years of experience doing treatment planning required.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a home-health setting with supervisory responsibilities and at least two years in leadership position required.
  • Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills; frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
  • Personable; able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Adaptable to a fast paced and quickly changing environment, prioritizing and multi-tasking, to meet critical deadlines.
  • Experience interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, and regulations of CCS.
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to communicate effectively within the work environment, read and write using the primary language in the workplace.
  • Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously.
  • Frequent speaking and listening (25-75%) to clients, staff, and others in the workplace.
  • Utilize computer and cell phone for effective communication.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must attend any required training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management support, including chart and treatment plan reviews based on standardized criteria; make recommendations for discharge and change in treatment hours, providing clear documentation of clinical rationale.
  • Advise on treatment plans and goals for Behavioral Health Treatment (BHT) programs in collaboration with Clinical Care team.
  • Meet and provide immediate and ongoing intervention support to client families.
  • Provide consultation around appropriate discharge, change of care path or transition to services outside of CCS.
  • Oversee clinical care paths to ensure they are mission-based and meet or exceed the requirements of regulatory and/or certification agencies.
  • Act as a collaborative resource and consultant for review of assessment reports, treatment reports, client charts and progress to ensure that treatment programs are in line with the clinical standards of the organization and its funders.
  • Offer treatment recommendations to providers that are aligned with CCS clinical standards and related to specific objectives on current treatment plans.
  • Meet and provide immediate intervention support to client families.
  • Consult on case management escalations and activities related to clinical services to ensure client needs are met in accordance with professional standards of CARF and the BACB.
  • Recommend development and implementation of consistent processes for addressing clinical issues across the CCS.
  • Consult on and assist with responses to clinically related grievances, investigative reviews, and Quality of Care reviews.
  • Act as a consult regarding crisis intervention as needed, including CPS reports and Child Crisis intervention.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for issues with providers, clients, Case Managers & funding source related to clinical quality.
  • Bring escalated clinical concerns and/or incidents related to service provision to the Clinical Leadership Team for review.
  • Identify, plan, develop and execute clinical improvement projects with Quality Assurance and Programs leadership to achieve targeted clinical objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of advances in Behavioral Health Treatment assessment and treatment, regulations, health insurance changes, and laws and regulations as it pertains to behavioral health practices.
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing oversight of best practice standards for the Network.
  • Identify, generate, and analyze outcomes measures to support providers’ treatment plans and programs.
  • Collaborate with the clinical development team to create and implement CCS clinical standards and training.
  • Collaborate with Catalight partnerships to develop and deliver clinical training on clinical standards, practices, and processes.
  • Support clinical services audits and other operational activities, as needed.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and with leadership level business partners.
