About The Position

The Accounting Consultant position at Verizon involves supporting the statutory audit and compliance processes in India, ensuring adherence to local regulations and accounting standards. The role requires collaboration with various teams to manage financial reporting, tax audits, and internal controls, while also providing analytical support to the accounting department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience in a financial accounting role, preferably with a global MNC.
  • Experience with 1ERP/S4 HANA/SAP.
  • Expert knowledge of Indian GAAP and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, with working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience in preparation and review of general ledgers and monthly/quarterly management accounts.
  • Ability to manage large data sets and convert data into information.
  • Expert skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and GSuite.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively across functions.

  • SAP S4 FICO certification.
  • Experience in the IT or Telecommunications industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support the India statutory audit & filings process, including PBCs for Intercompany, Forex, Payroll, and Bank payments.
  • Work closely with the local statutory team to assist in compliance with local statutory regulations, including board reports and management decks.
  • Coordinate internal control testing and internal audits to ensure compliance with ICFR requirements.
  • Conduct annual physical verification of fixed assets.
  • Prepare and submit annual returns and information with RBI and MCA, including FLA and annual accounts.
  • Provide accounting support for transfer pricing, corporate tax filing, and income tax audits.
  • Assist with annual GST audits and intercompany settlements as per FEMA regulations.
  • Perform month-end close, financial statement analysis, and maintenance of accounting records for India.
  • Ensure timely processing of accruals and amortization journals.
  • Coordinate settlement of trusts contributions and settlements.
  • Interact with stakeholders to respond to inquiries related to India activities.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
