About The Position

This position is the face of Harbor Homes for our homeowners, ensuring their move-in experience remains positive by resolving issues quickly and effectively. Our Warranty Technician is responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of the warranty process while demonstrating a personalized and professional manner with our customers. This role requires a mix of technical repair ability, excellent customer service, and the proficiency to manage with the use of mobile technology.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and professional, positive customer focused attitude
  • Handyman Skillset with multi-trade proficiency in finish carpentry, drywall, and general home maintenance
  • Thorough understanding of all stages of construction process
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed construction blueprints, specifications, and detailed development drawings
  • Basic technology skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Outlook (email), and experience with a residential production scheduling system (Buildertrend preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • 3+ years experience in home repair, remodeling or new homebuilding environment with proven track record of high-quality craftsmanship
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Travel is required. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license with insurance coverage and will be subject to a background check before issuance of a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a top-rate customer service attitude while facilitating clean, respectful, and safe warranty appointments for the customer and effectively communicating
  • Complete outstanding warranty work in an efficient manner by independently planning a daily route, managing time between appointments, and closing out claims out claims
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all Harbor Homes construction expectations as stated in project construction plans and scopes of work
  • Evaluate warranty claims to accurately diagnose and address the root cause of issues, distinguishing between warrantable items and homeowner maintenance
  • Perform a wide variety of "punch-list" and warranty repairs, including drywall patching, paint touch-ups, door/hardware adjustments, minor carpentry, caulking, etc.
  • Utilize company-provided mobile apps and tablets to receive work orders, document progress with photos, and log completed tasks in real-time
  • Maintain a professional and ethical relationship with Trade Partners
  • Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and keep an inventory of the necessary materials and tools to complete daily tasks independently
  • Participate as an active member of the Warranty team, attending all department meetings and providing input on improving department performance and customer satisfaction to the Production Manager and Vice President of Operations
