About The Position

Construction Truck Driver Non-CDL – DOT Location: Odessa, TX Type: Full Time General Information/Job Summary The Driver will transport equipment and material (skid steers, trailers, pipe, small equipment, safety supplies, etc.) in and around major areas of oil and gas industry facilities.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a driver.
  • Hands on experience with hauling trailers, strapping down and securing loads.
  • Capable of driving long hours (60-70 hrs. weekly), most of the driving is performed locally.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable driving rules and regulations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
  • 4 years truck driving experience required.
  • Must meet all DOT requirements.
  • On a continual basis, promotes an awareness of environmental, health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment and ensures compliance with all accompany policies
  • Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.
  • Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
  • Attends safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
  • Attends various training classes as may be assigned by management.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.
  • Manual and finger dexterity.
  • Eye-hand coordination.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to see things clearly that are beyond arm’s reach. (Far visual acuity)
  • Ability to see small detail.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach above the head while sitting or standing.
  • Ability to reach below knees while standing.
  • Ability to stoop or kneel.
  • Ability to work at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Transport equipment or material within customer locations using a variety of different trailers. (utility trailers, pipe trailer, cargo trailers, etc.)
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and fellow employees.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Comply with driving rules and regulations as well as Saulsbury’s policies and procedures.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects, accidents, and violations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
